Homemade Yogurt
I am a blog reader and have been for the past ten years. I love all the creative stories, product reviews, and ideas people put out there on the world wide web for me to read. One of the topics I read a lot about, at one time, was making homemade yogurt. After reading many posts about making homemade yogurt, and the many benefits that come along with it, I added it to my forever long to-do list. Where it was always pushed to the bottom, I never took the time to make it, which kind of bummed me out. As a person that strives to eat mostly whole foods, and lives a homesteading lifestyle, I should be making homemade yogurt! It would also offer another breakfast option other than soaked steel-cut oatmeal or eggs.
Then this past Christmas I received a life-changing gift that pushed me to make my first batch of homemade yogurt. I received a yogurt maker!! Specifically, the Dash 7 Jar Yogurt Maker. I am not typically a gadget person in the kitchen, but this thing is amazing!! The yogurt comes out perfect every time, and the taste is superior to anything I have ever purchased from the grocery store. One of the best parts of homemade yogurt is, it is sugar-free!! It also cost far less than any organic yogurt you find in the store!!
As I said, I received mine for Christmas, but You can find it on amazon.com. It is not too big to store, is light, and easy to get in and out of wherever you store it. The instructions are crazy easy to follow!! The prep is only about 10 minutes. It does take 8 - 10 hours to cook the yogurt, but it's so worth the wait! So, if you have ever wanted to, or have been thinking about making your own yogurt, do it!!! Whether you choose to use a gadget or not, you will regret making your own yogurt!!
