Living Room Before Pics, Plans, and Moodboard

My soon to be favorite room!!  This room is why I fell in love with this house.  It has a beautiful farmhouse fireplace and gorgeous plank ceiling with wood beams.  I instantly fell in love.

See, that ceiling is pretty awesome right?!  And that fireplace!!  I love the brick and the mantel is perfect.

Here is the rest of the space.  Right now it is pretty dark, two of the walls are yellow and the window sills are a cream color.  It all look pretty dirty, I can't wait to paint!  I want all the walls one color, with maybe and accent wall.  The room is large and the plan is for it to be a sitting room.  A place to unwind with a drink and a book.  You know for all the sitting around we do, not so much.  Maybe one day...

Right now it is like a bunch of our stuff, that we have picked up along the way in life, has thrown up in this room.  There is no unity and nothing stands out.  I am really looking forward to pulling it together, here is what I am thinking...

I created an eclectic monochromatic board here, it gives me good directions for shopping, and pulling pieces I already have together.  I will use a mix of new items, antiques, thrift store, and DIY projects used to pull this room together.  In the end I want the room to feel comfortable and inviting, with the fireplace and ceiling being the stars of the room.  So that is the plan!
